Based on the best practices and experiences shared during WP3.2 and WP3.3, a plan for upgrading the research management and administration unit at UTH will be defined. This plan will consist of three components: (i) Setting up International Projects Office as a part of the Research Management and Administration Unit at UTH. Existing employees at UTH who have been involved in training activities will constitute the initial team of the International Projects Office. Their role will be to provide support to UTH researchers in the preparation of future project proposals and management of EU projects. (ii) Setting up a network of software tools at UTH in order to improve the agility and efficiency of research management and administration. The selection of the most appropriate tools will be made in consultation with the project partners. The toolset for agile project management employed by IHP will be considered, which includes tools such as IHP Wiki/Confluence, LSF (Load Sharing Facility), Elab (a database for experiment documentation), ENAIO (a project application management tool), Youtrack (to keep record of project progress), Jenkins (a task automation tool). The training on these tools will be provided in WP3.3.
(iii) Creating a Research Management Handbook. The knowledge and expertise in research management gained through training will be merged in the form of a document that will provide detailed guidelines for preparation of project proposals and fundamental aspects of project management and administration. This document will also serve as a fundamental user-manual for future employees at UTH.
